Do you require financial assistance?
Families that require financial assistance may apply to one of the below stated programs. Hockey Calgary provides funding only through the Flames Even Strength Program application. You will be required to complete your FESP application online and submit it directly to Hockey Calgary.
FESP funding for 2017-2018 is set at a maximum of $700.00. With the economic downturn in Calgary over the last year, Calgary has seen more and more families asking for assistance. Programs that are offered that cost less than $700, a minimum $100 is required as payment from the family for registration fees.
Based on the maximum, if you are applying for financial assistance you are required to pay your portion of the registration fees owing, upon registration. Please see below:
Timbits - $100
Novice - $175
Atom - $250
PeeWee/Bantam/Midget - $325

***PLEASE NOTE*** Some programs deny you the ability to apply for more than one funding resource. Please ensure that you apply for funding through FESP, this is the program that is mandated by Hockey Calgary.
Flames Even Strength Program/KidSport:
The Flames Even Strength Program helps families cover the cost of hockey registration fees thanks largely to title sponsor, the Calgary Flames - Flames Foundation for Life. This program has given away more than $500,000 to children in need since 1998. Families who want to apply for this funding must complete the FESP form.
*** The application process is now open for the 2017-2018 season. The process this season is NEW, with an online form submitted directly to Hockey Calgary for review. Power of Sports 4 Kids Program:
FGL Sports is proud of the Power of Sport for Kids community giving program. Introduced through Sport Chek stores nationally in October 2005, its purpose is to provide opportunities for sports, play and physical activity to deserving children who may not otherwise have the resources to take part. This is a program that benefits children and provides them with the chance to experience the joy of an active lifestyle. For more information please click HERE.
One in three Canadian families cannot afford to enroll their children in sport and recreation activities because of financial barriers (Ipsos Reid, 2009). That means that many kids are missing out.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart is dedicated to removing barriers, so children can participate in organized sport and recreation.
We see it as equipping kids for life, because participation in organized sport and recreation increases a child's chance for success in life.
They discover and participate. They gain self-confidence. They develop self-esteem. They learn leadership skills. Their lives become richer. This is the power of Canadian Tire Jumpstart. For more information please click HERE or view a copy of the brochure...page 1....page 2.
