Financial Assistance

Do you require financial assistance?

Families that require financial assistance may apply to one of the following programs.  Hockey Calgary provides funding through the Flames Even Strength Program application.  Please contact us at fesp@mcknighthockey.com to make arrangements to submit your application.  Applications can be submitted in person, by email or at the walk-in event.  We strongly encourage all applicants to submit your forms as soon as they are ready, do not wait to the last minute.

FESP Funding for 2016-2017 is set at a maximum of $700.00.  With the economic downturn in Calgary over the last year, Calgary has seen more and more families asking for assistance.  Programs that are offered that cost less than $700, a minimum $100 is required as payment from the family for registration fees.

Based on the maximum, if you are applying for financial assistance you are required to pay your portion of the registration fees owing, upon registration.  Please see below:

Community Hockey:

Timbits - $100

Novice - $175

Atom - $250

PeeWee/Bantam/Midget - $325

Junior C - $125

House League:

Please note that the deadline indicated on the form is for McKnight to submit to Hockey Calgary on your behalf.  The association must sign off on your application, and you cannot apply directly to Hockey Calgary.

Other available programs:

Power of Sports 4 Kids Program:

FGL Sports is proud of the Power of Sport for Kids community giving program. Introduced through Sport Chek stores nationally in October 2005, its purpose is to provide opportunities for sports, play and physical activity to deserving children who may not otherwise have the resources to take part. This is a program that benefits children and provides them with the chance to experience the joy of an active lifestyle.  For more information please click HERE.

Jumpstart:

One in three Canadian families cannot afford to enroll their children in sport and recreation activities because of financial barriers (Ipsos Reid, 2009). That means that many kids are missing out.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is dedicated to removing barriers, so children can participate in organized sport and recreation.

We see it as equipping kids for life, because participation in organized sport and recreation increases a child's chance for success in life.

They discover and participate. They gain self-confidence. They develop self-esteem. They learn leadership skills. Their lives become richer. This is the power of Canadian Tire Jumpstart.  For more information please click HERE or view a copy of the brochure...page 1....page 2.
