Volunteers 2016-2017

With the 2015-2016 hockey season behind us now; here's a quick note to say THANK YOU to the MANY volunteers that make our minor hockey season possible. From the tireless efforts of the coaches, team managers, coordinators, directors and committee members, our community and corporate sponsors, and to the parents who are always there, a huge THANK YOU from the over 700 young hockey players who benefit in countless ways from experiencing this great winter sport we call "Hockey". The success of McKnight Hockey is a reflection of the ever-increasing dedication and enthusiasm our volunteers’ display on a continual basis. We thank you for your contribution of time to McKnight’s minor hockey programs. Our success would not be realized without your involvement.

All the best to you during the summer off-season. We look forward to seeing you all again in the fall!

Volunteer Credit

Families are required to provide a $200 volunteer cheque (made out to McKnight Hockey Association) for each player.  Each family is required to provide 10 hours of volunteer service during the season for each player.

Cheques must be received prior to your third team skate.  Please bring your cheque with you to your child's first team skate. Parents who choose not to provide a volunteer cheque will have their player removed from the ice until such time a cheque is received.  Some volunteers are exempt from providing a volunteer cheque due to the extensive nature of their volunteering. Please refer to the Volunteer Credit Information.  Those volunteer positions marked "full credit" do not have to provide a volunteer cheque.

Each year, McKnight chooses from its many volunteers a recipient to receive the annual McKnight Volunteer of the Year Award.  This recipient is recognized at the Hockey Calgary Awards Gala in April.
