Goalie Evaluations
Goalies are evaluated separately from player evaluations. These may take place prior to the player evaluations. As in previous years, McKnight will partner with outside evaluators to complete the Goalie Evaluation Process
U9 Goalies
In U9, every player will have the opportunity to play as a goalie. There are no set goalies at this age division. Goalie gear will be provided to each team to use for the season.
U11 Goalies
Goalies in U11 may register to be a full-time goalie or a hybrid goalie.
Hybrid goalies will play as both a skater and goalie during the season (25-50% as a goalie and 50-75% as player).
Goalies must qualify for the hybrid goalie program and evaluate as both a hybrid and a skater. To qualify for the hybrid goalie program, the hybrid's goalie evaluation and player evaluation results must be within two divisions.

Hockey Calgary's Hybrid Program
- Participants trying out as hybrid goalies MUST declare a preferred position, prior to the start of evaluations. This is used in the case that the participant does not meet the evaluation requirements to participate as a hybrid goalie during the season. Participants will then be placed on a team as either a full time goalie or as a player.
McKnight has a limited amount of goalie gear to lend out to U11 goalies. Please contact goalie@mcknighthockey.com for more information.
U13-21
Players in Divisions U13 and higher can register as full time goaltenders.
We will make every effort to accommodate all goaltenders, though we cannot guarantee your child will play this position within our Association. The number of teams established in each Division will determine the number of goalies required. In recent years, all registered goaltenders were able to play goal at McKnight.
