Quadrant Hockey

What is Quadrant Hockey:

Quadrant Hockey, or “Elite” Hockey is made up of 4 hockey associations in Calgary for high-level players, U13 - U21 age. Quadrant Hockey is also called AA or AAA Hockey.

The cost to play quadrant hockey is substantially more than community, most teams have travel requirements, more practices and games, and off-ice training. Players must try out for these teams.

McKnight falls within:

Players trying out for Quadrant Hockey must register directly with the Calgary Northstars Hockey Association or the Calgary Fire Hockey Association.  There is a cost to try out. These players must also register with McKnight Hockey to facilitate our evaluation process.

When you register, please indicate that you are trying out for Quadrant Hockey when prompted. If your player does not make the Quadrant team please contact the McKnight Registrar.

Players who are trying out for Quadrant Hockey will not be required to pay unless they return to McKnight.

It is the player/parent's responsibility to inform McKnight Hockey that they have made the Northstars team.  Please email our Registrar the details at registrar@mcknighthockey.com.

To Try Out For Quadrant AA or AAA Hockey with Northstars:

  1. Ensure your Respect in Sport Certificate is up-to-date
  2. Email administrator@calgarynorthstars.com to have your Hockey Canada ID shared with Northstars. Please include your players, first and last names as well as their birthdate.
  3. Register with McKnight Hockey. Please click the box letting us know your intent to try out with the Northstars during registration  (you will not be charged by McKnight unless you are released by the Northstars)
  4. Register with the Northstars

To Try Out For Calgary's Elite Female Hockey:

  1. Ensure your Respect in Sport Certificate is up-to-date
  2. Email admin@girlshockeycalgary.com to have your Hockey Canada ID shared with The Fire. Please include your players, first and last names as well as their birthdate.
  3. Register with McKnight Hockey. Please click the box letting us know your intent to try out with the Fire during registration  (you will not be charged by McKnight unless you are released by the Fire)
  4. Register with the The Fire.
